Jan Maximilian Robitzsch studierte Philosophie, Politikwissenschaft, Theater, Film- und Fernsehwissenschaft in Köln und Paris und wurde in Philadelphia an der University of Pennsylvania promoviert. Nach Station an der Sungkyunkwan University (Südkorea), und der University of Tennessee, Knoxville (USA), ist er seit SS 2021 wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter an der Universität Greifswald.
